Jesus Rodriguez is currently a Senior IT Manager at HSBC as the Head of Anti-Money Laundering IT for the Americas Region. This role includes management of software development and support staff across the US and Mexico City as well as offshore teams in Pune and Hyderabad India in support of Transaction Monitoring systems used to detect patterns of money laundering across the region and globally. This area is responsible for monitoring millions of transactions daily including compliance AML monitoring of hundreds of millions of dollars in US dollar clearing for HSBC affiliates globally.
Previously, Jesus was the Global Head of Wholesale Credit Approvals development where he oversaw the teams responsible for global lending approval and wholesale credit risk management systems related to customers across the spectrum of small businesses, middle market to large corporations, non-bank financial institutions, and sovereign entities. These systems managed 4 Trn USD in lending limits across 70 countries.
While part of a global IT organization, Jesus has managed teams through regulatory initiatives, the global financial crisis, and multiple organizational transformations. A large part of his leadership experience has been with teams dispersed across Asia, Europe, and the Americas including building new teams in Mexico, France, China, Turkey, and Malaysia. As a senior member of the organization, Jesus has worked closely with many executive leaders in various business lines as the organization managed through regulatory mandates and organizational restructuring initiatives.
For 2 years, Jesus lived and worked in Central America where he started a small business and worked as an IT consultant and developer for several small to medium sized firms.
His educational background started with a degree in Computer Information Systems from Buffalo State College, followed by his MBA in 2012 at Argosy University, and more recently included advanced leadership and business development training conducted at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in the UK.
Jesus' interests include astronomy, economics, and international relations as well as hiking and spending time with family.
